DUMB, VERY DUMB, SAMSUNG!
First as a disclaimer, let me say that the picture and black levels of this TV are unimpeachable. It's stellar. Which is why it's so hard for me to gripe about this TV, but for chrissakes, for $2300, it should work like a cadillac SONY XBR6 in all respects, since the SONY sells for roughly the same price and has fantastic sound and everything on that model works seamlessly ...

The Samsung TV's have down-firing speakers, and the LN52A850 has the worst speakers of the 5,6,7,8 series .... Read more

Great TV
I have owned this TV for about 3 weeks now...and here is my experience with it so far.....
note: i am an average user - so some professionals might rightfully disagree with this assessment. my tv usage is placing it in the living area for day to day usage. not a home theater or advanced sound usage :)

Purchase:
- Bought it from Amazon. Was delivered in 3 days via Pilot freight at a price i am happy with.

A Review for those of you who obsessivly research
So, if you're like me you research and research, obsess a bit, and then research some more before making a television purchase. So, I thought I would offer a few simple thoughts that might help. regarding ceva shipping
Ok I just received my samsung LN52A850 and so far the tv is awesome. Ok regarding ceva shipping and white glove, I ordered the TV on Dec 17 and amazon said it was expected to be delivered on Dec 30th, Ceva tracking said Dec 29th. The tv was shipped from Pennsylvania and I live on Long Island so its only a couple of hundred miles. Ceva called on Dec 22nd and said they could deliver it on the 23rd (great a week early) between 10am and 4pm. To my surprise they came at 10:05am and so far everyth .... Read more

white glove service
We ordered our Samsung TV and were very pleased with the white glove service. The delivery men put shoe covers on before coming in my house. They unwrapped and removed the cartons and even set it up before leaving. We were very pleased. And we love the new TV. The picture is great and there are so many great features.
