This is my second LG tv. I love this brand. The Price is very competitive with all other major brands, but the quality surpasses many.
What I love about this specific model is the PIP feature, which seems hard to find on a 60" as well as the DVR, which is next to impossible to find on other brands. You can pause and reply live TV without any subscrition fees, as well as record right from live tv.
The picture quality is awesome, everything about this tv is awesome! I cant say enough!!! |
Best 720p tv on the market, but tough to find

I absolutely love this tv, and have 3 of them. This one, a 60" plasma, an identical one in a 50" plasma, and a 42" LCD. Personally, I prefer cable to satellite, but don't like converter boxes. I mean, why buy a TV with a HD tuner if you are just going to use an external tuner with a crappy, and slow, menu system? It means another remote, more cables, bla bla bla...
These TV's are different! They take CableCard, so no external hardware, or additional remotes. It has a built in TVGuide, which is much better than the one in the cable boxes. And, it has a built in DVR with all the features of an external DVR. With the 1 remote, I can go into the scheduler, pick a show any time in the next week, and select it to record once, weekly, or regularly. It records in SD or HD, and the playback is amazing. When watching regular TV, it buffers up to 1 hour, so you can back up, pause, or skip ahead (if you have backed up a bit).
This model does NOT have any SD or USB slots, like one of my others. So I would assume that any firmware update would have to be done by a technician. This is a negetive. My others can be updated with a 32MB sd card that you can get free, with a phone call, to LG. LG support has also be excellent.
I highly recommend this unit for the tech savvy buyer, if you can find one. They are a tremendous value.
