Overview

Once again, Sharp, a leader in LCD technology, establishes a new design standard for LCD TVs. With a screen size class of 65", the AQUOS LC-65D64U raises the bar by fitting a large screen size into an incredibly small footprint. By changing the layout of circuits inside the LCD panel and by reducing the number of parts, Sharp engineers developed the Slim-line design which reduces depth by 25%, allowing placement of the LC-65D64U in virtually any setting. The LC-65D64U utilizes Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View / Black TFT Panel with multi-pixel technology, providing 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio with Enhanced Picture Contrast Technology and 4ms response time. The LC-65D64U features built-in ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuners and includes 3 HDMI (version 1.3) inputs, compatible with 1080p signals, X.V. Color, a PC input and 2 HD component video inputs. Side terminals are included for wall-mounting convenience as well as RS-232C input for control..

The best choice for large screen -- compare to Panasonic P58
I first purchased a Panasonic Viera 58" Plasma from Amazon. Color and picture qualtiy were great, and sound was very good for a TV. However, the reflections were even worse than I expected. It was almost like looking in a mirror! I do business with Amazon because of the outstanding service and ability to return orders. I'll lose the shipping cost ($99) but that's OK.

The Aquos 65 requires a bit more adjusting on colors, but I'm completely satisfied with the results. Using bas .... Read more

This is the one!!!
We moved from a 50" 720p/1080i plasma to this LCD 1080p 65 incher. Amazon truck shipped free and it came less than 5 days after I ordered it, and 6 days before listed delivery date. I hardly had time to take the old plasma off the wall.
1080p is a HUGE difference. Especially on OTA digital HD transmissions, like PBS stations. I felt like I could reach out and grab those PBS puppets. Not just super clear, but almost 3-D looking.
The first thing I realized is the difference between a $ .... Read more

Awsome TV - No Frills like View Pictures/Slideshows
This is an awsome no frills TV. Great picture, beautiful high gloss frame with non detachable speaker on bottom. 1080p with lots of inputs including 3 HDMI and a huge 65" flat screen LCD for less than $3100 (that is the deal I got from Amazon around Thanksgiving 2008)! I only gave this 4 stars because unlike Samsung or Sony there is no functionality to plug in USB or camera cards to show pictures/slide show and no networking/internet capabilty (of course you can always connect your laptop and .... Grab the Popcorn!
The is the most amazing TV ever! The picture is amazing! The sound is just as great as the picture without adding on surround sound. The in home delivery was great! They even can on Saturday and showed up earlier then expected!. The entire process from order to deliver took only 6 days. I just completed setting up the TV with HDMI and could not stop watching it. All I could say was WOW!. The picture is flawless and the response time when changing channels is exceptional. Well worth the price and .... Read more

Big & Awesome
I've been window shopping for a big TV for over a year and compared DLPs, Plasmas and LCDs. I then selected this one for the size, quality & price. If you can buy a 65", go for it as its any day better purchase than any 52". Thanks to 120 Hz technology, the price on this TV dropped and I was able to afford it. There is very little performance difference between 120hz and this one but the price difference is about $2000 that I was not willing to pay. It has awesome pic quality and many modes that ....
