It is just great! We are totally enjoying moving into the 21st century. Some channels are fuzzy, but we are still on local cable and I think when we change to satellite in the new year, it will be better. Not to give anyone the wrong impression, it's the reruns that are snowy. .... Read more

YES!!
I just got this beast yesterday and now I'm in love:) I had a 32" Panasonic before that, but I wasn't impressed with the size. With my Sony, I'm now impressed with the size. It's great, cause I have a hobbit like den for my living room, so the viewer becomes totally immersed in the screen.
My only slight gripe is the color. With the Pansonic, the colors were so vibrant. I notice the Sony is a little more subdued (but then again, I notice all other TVs are the same way). But maybe t .... Read more

Opened item sold as new?
Bought a new Sony KDL-40S4100 TV from Video & Audio Center thru Amazon in Dec.'08 at $897.97 with free shipping and no tax. It was the cheapest on-line. Video & Audio Center has a good on-line rating. I'm still worrying about getting a refurbish unit. When I got the unit, I can tell the original sealed tape has been cut and re-sealed with clear tape. First HDTV and I love it!
I'm not a HDTV guru but I was shocked by the quality as soon as I setup the TV. I know there's a lot of quality brands out there and could be overwhelming in your decision, but I can assure you that you will not be dissappointed. Blueray movies are exquisite, non HD channels are still outstanding..If I had to say something, it would be the loading time in the begining. IT takes about 10 seconds for the tv boot .... Read more
